Essential Tool Kit
It is not unusual for the tool kit which was supplied with your bike consisted of a couple of allen keys & a screwdriver!
Now this may get you out of trouble in an emergency however, We recommend you prepare your own tool kit which is specific for your bike.
Start by checking the size of the fasteners on the fairings, these are usually allen keys then work your way around for what you feel you could need. Remember a spanner for the mirrors, you might be able to get away with a small adjustable & its just 1 tool as opposed to a few in various sizes.
Now look at your fuse box, is there any spares? if not add some, they take up no room at all.
In the unlikely event of an off or drop, pack an assortment of cable ties & don’t forget the gaffer tape these are essential.
Once you have your tools collated decide how you are going to keep them all together & carry them on your bike. We use a tool roll & have a permanent tool box on one of the bikes the alternative is a waterproof soft luggage pouch which can then attach to the bike.
Don’t worry if you have all the tools & no idea what to do with them, bikers are a friendly lot & you’ll find someone who will be able to use them, if of course you have them available!
