Steve & Duncan

a.k.a The Happy Bikers

Our Story…

The Happy Bikers met through their mutual love of all things motorbikes, in particular Ducati’s. Their passion for adventure touring, camping & generally being outdoors.

Between them they have travelled many thousands of miles through diverse landscapes. From the desert sands of Morocco, rocky mountain trails in Nepal, & extreme switchbacks on alpine passes. Not forgetting the chaos of bustling European cities adding to the rich experiences about the Happy Bikers and their journeys.

Both members of the IAM, Steve being a National Observer & Masters rider, they have the skills, knowledge and experience. We can guide you on your next tour. Be it a short trip around Ireland’s Atlantic Coast, exploring Norway’s Fjords or a full round-the-world trip of a lifetime.

Steve currently rides a Ducati Multistrada 1260S on which he has ridden over 65,000 touring miles. Duncan rides a Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally, clocking up over 10,000 miles within its first 6 months of ownership. These guys are serious about adventure touring, which tells you a lot about the Happy Bikers.

Isle of Man TT

We took the overnight ferry from Liverpool to Douglas arriving just in time for breakfast. If you go you must check out The Caff on Lord Street home of the Big Boys’ Breakfast. Home for the week was Ramsey Rugby Club which turns into a campsite for the TT. This was a great location, just a short walk to the grandstand & local towns for refreshments. Being outside of the course you have less travel restrictions during race time and you can fully enjoy all about the Happy Bikers’ lifestyle.

10 Countries European Tour

10 countries in 17 days a bi-annual European tour, destination Misano World Circuit for World Ducati Week. Leaving Dover by ferry we traveled through France to Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Overnight ferry to Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, back into Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, England. On this tour, you could truly learn about the Happy Bikers’ experiences in different cultures. Belgium was the only country where campsites were scarce, we spent the first night in a restaurant’s garden!

Wiltshire Winter weekend

Last weekend of November is the annual pilgrimage for the last 2 night camp of the season, this is not for the lighthearted as temperatures have been known to drop as low as -6 degrees. A great test for your winter equipment! Saturday is a full day’s ride around Wiltshire & Somerset past iconic sights like Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge & the white horses, exploring what makes the Happy Bikers unique, showcasing all about them.

Spring Break

The season opener is a weekend tour of Norfolk & Suffolk. This is where we test out our equipment which has been in storage over winter & our new purchases & Xmas presents. Stopping off at the National Trust site at East Bergholt, birthplace of the artist John Constable before the chain ferry to the campsite. Sunday we have a walk along the beach to see the seals at Horsey, completing another chapter about adventures and what truly defines the Happy Bikers.
