New Gear | Coastal Roads | Pubs, Seals & Big Skies
Intro
There’s something different about the first ride of the season.
The bikes feel alive again. The air still carries that winter edge. There’s always that quiet question in the back of your mind… did I pack everything properly?
This two-day Norfolk & Suffolk Motorcycle Camping Trip wasn’t just about the ride. It was a full shakedown. We tested new gear and checked old

Day 1: Suffolk Ride to Norfolk Campsite
The trip started exactly how all good rides should… with breakfast.
A stop at the ever-reliable A33 Cafe set the tone. Strong tea, proper food, and plenty of bikes already parked up.
From there, we rolled into Lavenham, one of the UK’s best-preserved medieval villages. The leaning timber-framed buildings make it feel like you’ve ridden straight into history.
Next stop was Flatford Mill, a National Trust site and the inspiration behind The Hay Wain by John Constable. A slower-paced stop, but one that’s well worth it.
From here, the route pushed north toward Norfolk, with a unique crossing on the Reedham Ferry. A short but memorable break in the ride and something a bit different.
Once at the campsite, it was time for the real test… setting up the gear after months in storage.
Thankfully, no major issues.
Which meant one thing…
Pub time. 🍺
Good food, a couple of beers, and the perfect end to day one.

Day 2: Norfolk Broads, Coast Roads & Seals
An early start, a fresh coffee, and the familiar routine of packing everything back onto the bikes.
Day two focused on exploring the Norfolk Broads. Its calm waterways, open roads, and big skies make riding here so relaxing.
Breakfast stop came in Potter Heigham, a great spot to pause before heading toward the coast.
Next highlight… Horsey Gap.
Seeing seals stretched out along the beach was one of those unexpected moments that really makes a trip memorable.
From there, we followed the coast through Cromer and on to Wells-next-the-Sea.
Final coffee stop. Helmets off. Just taking in the sea air before heading home.
