Day 5 – Voss to Trollstigen: Ferries, Tunnels & A Legendary Pass 🏍️🌧️
Distance: 421 km | Time: 6 hours 47 minutes | Weather: Wet all day (waterproofs on) | Route: Voss → Fodnes → Mannheller → Stranda → Liabygda → Trollstigen Camping
Waterproofs On, Spirits High
We rolled out of Voss under grey skies and steady rain—another full waterproof day. Slick roads and misty valleys set the mood, but the riding was brilliant: a satisfying blend of long sweeping bends and tight switchbacks that kept us focused and smiling.
Fjord Hops & Caffeine Stops 🚢☕
First ferry of the day: Fodnes → Mannheller. We grabbed a quick coffee, stretched our legs, and watched low cloud drift over the fjord. Later, we took Stranda → Liabygda, another chance to breathe, chat with curious locals, and wring out the gloves before the next stretch.
