Season opener – Norfolk & Suffolk weekend

1st camping trip of the year is a weekend around Norfolk & Suffolk.
8th March we get to test out our kit that has been in storage over winter before we head off on longer trips. Camping at Reedham Ferry with fantastic facilities, the shower block even has under floor heating & if you would rather not cook there is a pub which serves great food next door.
Day 1 – Saturday is around 170 miles through Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Fenland, Suffolk before arriving at the campsite in Norfolk via the Reedham chain ferry. Stopping on the way for breakfast & then lunch at Flatford in Constable Country, home if the famous painting ‘The Hay Wain’.
Day 2 – Sunday is around 184 miles Norfolk, Suffolk back into Norfolk, Fenland & finishing in Cambridgeshire. With breakfast in Southwold, a stop off to see the seal colony at Horsey Gap. We have a choice of lunch stops either West Runton or Wells-next-to -the Sea.
A good mix of roads & scenery with historic market towns, coastal roads & a chain ferry!
