🏍️ Cliffs, Craic & Goodbyes 🌊🍻

By Day 4, the roads were familiar but still full of surprises. We rode the Dingle Peninsula and stopped to admire the Cliffs of Moher. This experience showed us that some roads are unforgettable, even if you’ve seen pictures a hundred times. A quick pint in a village pub reminded us that Irish craic is real.

Our last full day together — and Ireland made sure we wouldn’t forget it! 🇮🇪💚

First job of the day was to get air in my rear tyre, again… We then started the day rolling onto the Tarbert ferry ⛴️, engines rumbling and coffee in hand. Spirits were high as we cruised back onto the Wild Atlantic Way. We were hugged tight to the coastline by spectacular cliffside roads 🌬️🏞️. Riding the Wild Atlantic Way offered breathtaking views.

This day is part of our full Ireland motorcycle tour — see the complete route and guide here.

We took a scenic spin along Kilbaha Bay. We made an impromptu stop at Keatings Bar & Restaurant. It’s known as “the nearest pub to New York” and famed for the Grave of the Yellow Men 🪦. The plan was just a coffee break. However, when we discovered the coffee could be free ☕😄, it somehow turned into a full Irish breakfast. Not sure how that happened — but no regrets! 🍳🥓🍞 Exploring the Wild Atlantic Way led to unexpected encounters and delicious meals.

Cliffs of Moher came into view, wild and majestic. We thought about hiking to the top… until we saw the €15 price tag and remembered we were in full bike gear 🥵. Common sense prevailed — roadside views and a few cheeky photos did the job! 📸

We pulled over at a cliffside viewpoint. We just watched the waves crash. For a moment, the world fell away.

From there, the route continued past the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel 🏌️‍♂️. Or, as the locals call it with a smirk — “Rump” 😏. We just had to stop for a closer look & photo opportunity. These landmarks on the Wild Atlantic Way provided plenty of entertainment.

️By late afternoon, we rolled into Doolin. It is a charming little town. Our tents went up for the last time as a full group. 🏕️

Well, almost — one of my tent poles decided to retire early 😅. I had to make a quick field repair before I could fully settle in. I emailed the supplier the next day. Fair play to them. By the time I got home, two brand-new poles were waiting for me under warranty. 🙌⛺

Then came the emotional part:
We walked to a nearby pub. We raised a few pints of Guinness 🍺🍺🍺. We shared stories from the road. We talked about the breakdowns, the banter, and the breathtaking views.

When the music kicked in 🎶🎻. The craic flowed. It hit us: the trip may have been winding down. The memories were just getting started.

Tomorrow, I ride solo.
But tonight, we celebrated friendship, freedom, and the open road. 💫

This ride is part of our preparation for the Happy Bikers Global Adventure, our attempt to ride around the world.
